Eleanore Cohen

Eleanore Cohen, a native Denverite and lifetime resident, passed away July 28, 2008. She was 79.

Rabbi Jay Tel Rav of Temple Sinai officiated at the July 29 graveside services at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mrs. Cohen was born June 19, 1929, in Denver to the late Abe and Ruth Neiman. She was confirmed at the HEA in 1945 and graduated from North High School in June, 1947.

She married Louis L. Cohen on Aug. 24, 1947, at the HEA. He passed away on Mar. 8, 1980.

Mrs. Cohen started as a home typist for Mutual Graphics, Inc., in 1960 and ultimately became the operating general manager for the company. She retired in 1992.

She was one of the first women in Denver to become a member of the Denver Athletic Club, and has been a member of the Denver Press Club for many years.

She is survived by her brother, Gerald “Jerry” (Pearl) Neiman, and sister Patricia “Patty” Moore of Denver; her four children Stephanie (Norman) Weiner, of Michigan, Elyse (Charles) Tafoya, Jeffrey (Shelly) Cohen and Jay (Sing) Cohen, all of Denver; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
