Eileen Bomash
Eileen Bomash, a dedicated volunteer in Denver’s medical community, passed away May 26, 2017, in Denver. Rabbi Steven Foster officiated at the May 30 service at Temple Emanuel. Burial followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
“Eileen provided a lifetime of service and contribution with more than 40 years of volunteer service to the medical community,” the family said.
“A role model for all, she will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends,”her loved ones said.
Mrs. Bomash was active at National Jewish Hospital, Rose Medical Center, AMC Cancer Research Center and the Colorado Cancer Research Program.
She received the Minoru Yasui Community Volunteer of the Year award, Rose Medical Center’s Volunteer of the Year award and was named “Hero of the Week” by the Denver Post.
Mrs. Bomash was born June 5, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo.
A high school graduate, she lived in Denver for 72 years.
Eileen married Theodore “Ted” Bomash on Aug. 17, 1945. Mr. Bomash passed away on Aug. 12, 1993.
“She was a courageous two-time cancer survivor and overcame crippling rheumatoid arthritis,” the family said.
Mrs. Bomash is survived by her daughters Marilyn Carmichall and Diane Bomash.
