Edwin T. Richard

Edwin Taub Richard, a Denver resident since 1978, business consultant and an avid genealogist, passed away Aug. 16, 2019 in Denver. Rabbi Joe Black officiated at the Aug. 23 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Ed engaged in every activity with energy and enthusiasm — including square dancing, classical music, theater, sports, computers and home improvement,” the family said.

Mr. Richard was born March 3, 1930, in Asheville, NC.

He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1951.

Mr. Richard and his wife Nancy Solomon Richard started their family in Boston while he pursued his MBA at Harvard Business School.

The couple moved to Pittsburgh, Pa., in 1956 and then to suburban St. Louis, where they raised their four children.

In 1978 they relocated to Denver, where Mr. Richard worked as a business consultant and indulged his passion for skiing.

Nancy Richard predeceased her husband after 43 years of marriage.

He later married Maxine Cipperman Richard.

Mr. Richard was an active member of the Rotary Club of Commerce City for many years.

He also was a serious amateur genealogist and researched several generations of his family’s history in the American South and Europe.

Ed Richard is survived by survived by his wife Maxine Cipperman Richard; children Susan Sugarman, Judith Schiff, Benjamin Richard and Carl Richard; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom will miss their playful “Pawpee.”
