Edna Natalie Lieberman Cohen, a respected librarian and resident of Denver since 2003, passed away May 6, 2010, in Denver.
Services and burial were held May 9 in Sharon, Mass.
Edna was known for her love of books, animals, flowers, and especially her family, her loved ones said.
Mrs. Cohen was born May 21, 1921, in Boston, Mass.
A student at Jeremiah Burke High School in Roxbury, Mass., she earned her BS in library science from Simmons College in Boston in 1942.
Edna Lieberman married Harry Cohen on Aug. 23, 1942. Mr. Cohen passed away on Aug. 17, 2000.
A librarian for the City of Boston and military libraries in California, Mrs. Cohen worked for 30 years as a librarian for the City of Newton, Mass.
Listed in the 1975-1976 edition of Whos Who of American Women, she retired in 1987 and moved to Denver in 2003.
Mrs. Cohen is survived by her children Karen (Michael) Shapiro of Denver and Stephen (Peg) Cohen of Sharon, Mass.; grandchildren Ed Shapiro of Denver, Linda (Dave) Manning of Boulder, Elana Shapiro of Denver and Michael, Jon, Amy and Dan Cohen of Massachusetts; and great-grandchildren Ari and Esti Shapiro of Denver.
