Edith Stern

Edith Stern, a Holocaust survivor, passed away March 23, 2018, in Denver. She was 92. Rabbi Adam Kligfeld officiated at the March 26 graveside service at Mount Sinai Memorial Park in Los Angeles, Calif. Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries made the arrangements.

“A survivor of Kristallnacht and the Holocaust, she was a loving wife, mother and Oma,” her family said. “Graced with quiet strength and compassion, she was a sophisticated, sweet and loving woman to all who knew her.”

Mrs. Stern was born Sept. 3, 1925, in Mannheim, Germany.

After witnessing Kristallnacht in 1938, she fled to Zurich, Switzerland, where she lived until 1952.

She married Arthur Stern in 1952 and the couple immigrated to the US, settling in New York.

Mrs. Stern resided in the Los Angeles area from 1964 to 2013.

An administrative employee at MGM, she later became a realtor at Mimi Styne and Associates.

Mr. Stern passed away on May 24, 2012.

Mrs. Stern moved to Denver in 2013.

She belonged to the German Club, Hadassah, Americans for Peace Now and JStreet.

Mrs. Stern is survived by her children Daniel (Susan) Stern, Claude (Andrea) Stern and Jacqueline Stern (Howard) Bellowe; and grandchildren Joanna, Julia, Jacob, Joshua, Ilana, Gabriel and Nathan.
