Edith M. Silverman, former president of Hadassah and the Beth Joseph Sisterhood, passed away Nov. 24, 2012, in Aurora. Rabbi Steven Foster officiated at the Nov. 27 graveside service at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mrs. Silverman was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Washington, DC, where she attended American University.
She married Stanley I. Silverman on Jan. 23, 1941. Mr. Silverman passed away on Aug. 21, 1991.
Mrs. Silverman was a bookkeeper for Stearns-Rogers Dairy and the Federal Bureau of Mines.
In addition to her involvement with Hadassah and Beth Joseph, she belonged to Mogen David Adom, participated in Reading for the Blind and volunteered at Denver public libraries.
Mrs. Silverman is survived by her daughters Nancy (Tim) Elliott of Centential and Jean (Bill) Liles of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren Gina (Todd) Ross of Englewood, Brian (Allison) Spinnato of Aurora, Debra (Chris) Canter of Houston, Texas, Jennifer (Jason) Gonzalez of San Antonio; and great-granddaughters Ava Spinnato of Aurora and Addie Ross of Englewood.
