Michael and Marcy Schreiber, longtime owners of the East Side Kosher Deli, have announced that the Deli is being purchased by Joshua “Shua” Horowitz of West Hempstead, Long Island.

The sale is scheduled to be completed in mid-December.

“We are just thrilled that someone with Joshua’s energy, enthusiasm, business savvy and creative ideas is taking over the Deli,” said Michael Schreiber.

“We know that he will take the Deli to the next level for the Denver Jewish community,” Marcy Schreiber added.

“I am delighted by the challenge and opportunity  to bring the East Side Kosher Deli into the next generation,” Horowitz said.

“I have many great ideas that we will be implementing over the next few months which I believe will serve as an asset to the entire Denver community.”

The deli will continue under the supervison of Scroll K, the Vaad HaKashrus of Denver.

Horowitz is a New York native. He grew up in Brooklyn and moved to Long Island after he got married.

He currently lives there with his wife and four daughters.

Horowitz attended high school at Yeshiva RJJ in Edison, NJ.

After high school, he spent a year studying Torah in Yeshiva Lev Avraham in Jerusalem.

He graduated Brooklyn College with a degree in business management and finance.

Horowitz will move to Denver to begin running the Deli.

His wife Adina and their four daughters will join him in Denver at the end of the school year.

Horowitz, who prefers to be called “Shua,” brings with him a strong knowledge of service-based management and has a drive and focus on customer service and a passion for great food.

He owned and operated a grocery store, worked as a cook for a caterer in New York, and maintains a food blog where he shares his idea and passion for great cooking.

He spent the last 13 years running a family-owned communications business, where he has learned the value of personal relationships.

Horowitz looks forward to greeting each and every customer and family in person.
