For the East Side Kosher Deli — a destination of choice for most of Denver’s kosher-observant consumers, and many others — the last 11 months have been anything but a picnic.
Like most other restaurants, the coronavirus pandemic has wreaked havoc on the venerable business, with mandated closures, limitations of hours, capacity restrictions and other official measures designed to slow the spread of the deadly virus.
Not to mention the fact that three of East Side’s workers — including its owner, Joshua Horowitz — tested positive for the virus themselves and were forced into quarantine.
