Dr. Walter Freedman

Dr. Walter Lewis Freedman, former chief of OB-GYN at Denver Health, passed away Nov. 29, 2018, in Tucson, Ariz. Rabbi Stephen Booth-Nadav officiated at the Dec. 3 service at Feldman Chapel. Burial followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Dr. Freedman was born March 9, 1929, in New York City, NY, where he attended Stuyvesant High School.

He graduated Cornell University Medical School in 1954 and served with the US Navy for two years.

On Oct. 12, 1955, Dr. Freedman married Clare Greenberger Freedman. They moved to Denver in 1979.

Mrs. Freedman passed away on Dec. 2, 2013.

A practicing physician in Denver, Dr. Freedman later became chief of OB-GYN at Denver Health.

He moved to Tucson, Ariz., in 2011.

Dr. Freedman is survived by his daughters Jan Bezuidenhout and Sue (Greg Guastella) Freedman; and grandchildren Eva, Lily and Samara.
