Max Morris Leder, MD, a respected physician for 50 years, passed away July 8, 2011, in Denver. He was 92. Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the July 10 graveside service at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
He was a wonderful man, the family said. Everybody loved him.
Dr. Leder was born March 11, 1919, in Denver. He attended West High School and graduated DU and the CU Medical School.
A captain in the US Army Medical Corps, he served in France and Okinawa.
After completing his residency in New York City, Dr. Leder worked as a physician at the Fairland TB Sanitarium in Seattle, Wash., for two years.
He married Carol Radetsky on Sept. 11, 1947.
In Denver, Dr. Leder first worked at the Jewish Consumptives Relief Society (JCRS) and then went into private practice.
He retired from medicine in 1999, at the age of 80.
An avid traveler, Dr. Leder attended the Santa Fe Opera in New Mexico every year.
He also enjoyed hiking in the Colorado mountains, painting, gardening, woodcarving and playing bridge.
Dr. Leder is survived by his wife Carol Leder; his children Dr. Eric (Brita) Leder, Charles (Pam) Leder and Dr. Robert (Arlene) Leder; grandchildren Molly (David) Hepkin, Kevin (Jasmin Foo) Leder, Allison (Anthony) Bejaramo, Melissa Leder, Megan Leder, Stephanie Leder and Leanna Leder; and three great-grandchildren.
