Louis Duman, MD, a Denver physician for 45 years, passed away Dec. 18, 2013, in Denver. Rabbi Benjy Last officiated at the Dec. 20 graveside service at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
He was a superior student, said his wife Nellie Mae.
Dr. Duman was born Feb. 22, 1924, on the West Side. He attended Fairview Elementary, Lake Junior and North High.
After majoring in pre-med at CU, he graduated the CU Medical School.
Dr. Duman married Nellie Mae Fry in 1946. They were married for 67 years.
Upon receiving his MD, he joined Dr. Maurice Katzman at the Republic Building.
Dr. Duman practiced medicine for 45 years until he retired.
A trustee of the Bonfils-Stanton Foundation for 35 years, the foundation honored his retirement by naming a room for him at the Ethics and Humanities Building at Fitzsimons.
He belonged to honorary societies Phi Beta Kappa and AOA.
Dr. Duman is survived by his wife Nellie Mae Duman; daughters Diana (Alan) Sher and Dr. Marilyn Duman (Gordon) Mattox; grandson Jordan (Shannon) Sher; and sister Rhoda (Vern) Friedman.
He was predeceased by his son Edward Alan Duman.
