Dr. Kasey Steinhardt

Dr. Kasiel “Kasey” Steinhardt, an orthopedic surgeon in Denver for over 60 years, passed away Feb. 22, 2019, in Lincolnshire, Ill. He was 91. Rabbi Michael Schwab and Cantor Benjamin Tisser officiated at the Feb. 24 service at Buffalo Grove Chapel in Buffalo Grove, Ill.

Interment followed at Shalom Memorial Park. Chicago Jewish Funerals made the arrangements.

Dr. Steinhardt was born Oct. 7, 1927, in New York.

A beloved Denver orthopedist in for over six decades, he was a longtime member of BMH-BJ.

Although he moved to Chicago in 2011, Dr. Steinhardt remained in close touch with his many Denver friends.

Dr. Steinhardt is survived by Judge Joyce Steinhardt, his loving wife of 68 years; children Cheryl (Ted) Banks and Sam (Bonnie) Steinhardt; grandchildren Mimi, Rebecca (David), Sarah (Haben), Joshua (Rabbi Dahlia) David (Shawna), Elliot (Kelly) and Hannah; step-grandchildren Heather (Beck) and Chris (Angela); great-grandchildren Jared, Noah, Roei, Erez and Shiloh; and sister Rosalind (the late Sumner) Frim.

His daughter Roberta Steinhardt predeceased him.
