Dr. Anthony (Tony) Perlman, a pediatrician and cardiologist in Baltimore until his retirement, passed away June 1, 2016, at his Baltimore home. He was 92.

Mr. Perlman was born in South Africa and came to the US in 1950.

He practiced pediatrics and cardiology in Baltimore until he retired at age 72.

“Tony believed in community, and he had a very large group of friends,” the family said.

In his retirement, Dr. Perlman became a woodworker/sculptor for pleasure.

When the pear tree under which he married Patsy Perlman was hit by lightning, he turned the remaining wood into beautiful figurines for family and friends.

Dr. Perlman is survived by Patsy Perlman, his wife of 63 years; children Dr. Dan Perlman (Lili Zohar) of Denver, Dr. Eric (fiancé Janelle Peotter) Perlman and Ellen Perlman; sister Vivien; grandchildren Henry Perlman and Rosa Perlman, Elliot Fink, David (Nikki) Fink and Joel (Chantelle) Fink; and great-granddaughter Gabrielle Fink.

Contributions may be made to B’nai Havurah.
