Dr. Alan Sar

Dr. Alan Sar, a specialist in emergency medicine who had his own family practice, passed away May 18, 2018, in Denver. Rabbi Shaul Robinson officiated at the May 23 service at the Plaza Jewish Community Chapel and Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ. Plaza Jewish Community Chapel made the arrangements.

“A compassionate and trusted physician, devoted and loving husband, brother, son, father, grandfather and loyal friend, Dr. Sar was a source of wisdom to his extended family and community,” his loved ones said. “He lived to help others, and he will be remembered and missed by them all.”

Dr. Sar was born Sept. 9, 1952, in New York.

He graduated the Ramaz School in New York, 1971; Queens College of New York, 1974; and the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery, Des Moines, Iowa, 1977.

After residing in Madison Heights, Mich., Boca Raton, Fla., and Livingston, NJ, Dr. Sar moved to Denver.

He married Deborah Minde Sar on Sept. 5, 2012.

Dr. Sar is survived by his wife Deborah Minde Sar of Denver; children Jonathan (Nathalie) Sar and Amanda Sar of Denver; grandchildren Lev and Isaac Sar of Denver; niece Sarah Sar-Neiri of Valencia, Calif.; and grand-niece Abigail and grand-nephews Charles and Samuel.
