Dr. Alan Jon Levine died on January 28, 2024, at the age of 81. A service was held on January 30 at Mt. Nebo Memorial Park, officiated by Rabbi Adam Morris. Feldman Mortuary handled the arrangements.

A native of Long Island, NY, born April 19, 1942, Dr. Levine earned his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Rochester. He devoted four decades to his work as a child psychiatrist, and was passionate about helping children and adolescents with ADHD and ADD.

“The mental health support he gave all his patients gave him great satisfaction,” his family said. “He was an accomplished yet humble man, a caring and compassionate doctor.”

Dr. Levine moved to Denver in 1970. In 1977, he and Leslie Oxman were married here. They were a couple for 46 years until Dr. Levine’s passing.

“Alan loved the outdoors, exploring Colorado,” his family said. “He was known for his dry sense of humor and thorough research.”

Survivors are Dr. Levine’s wife Leslie; children Sara (Klass) Levine Visser, Allyson (Dr. Adam Burstein) Levine and Becca (Liz Joynt Sandberg) Levine; grandchildren Nina Visser, Eliza and Lyla Burstein and Ida and Mimi Joynt Sandberg; and sister Joan Levine.
