Doris Averch

Doris AverchDoris Averch, a community volunteer and beloved matriarch of her family, passed away Jan. 7, 2015, in Denver. Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Cantor Martin Goldstein officiated at the Jan. 8 graveside service at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“”Doris was the most generous, kind and wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother,”” her loved ones said. ““Known as Mama Doris, family was the most important thing to her, and she was dearly loved by all.

““We will always remember her willingness to do whatever it took to be with the family. She only wanted the best for everyone.

“”She will be greatly missed.””

Mrs. Averch was born June 13, 1921, in New York.

She married Arnold Averch on Feb. 11, 1951. Mr. Averch passed away on Jan. 30, 1979.

Mrs. Averch volunteered at Beth Israel Hospital for many years.

A lifelong member of the HEA, she belonged to the synagogue’s sisterhood.

Mrs. Averch was very involved at the Loup JCC, attending Senior Forum programs and lunches where she spent time with her friends.

She also played a large role in the family business after her husband passed away.

Doris Averch is survived by her three daughters, Bonnie (Larry) Hanson, Charlene (Mark) Frenkel and Peggy Averch; grandchildren Aaron (Tracy) Hanson, Ben (Kelly) Hanson, Katie Hanson, Josh Frenkel, Jessica Frenkel, Kayla Frenkel, Alexandra Weisbart and Danielle Weisbart; and great-grandchildren Lucas Hanson, Isabelle Hanson and Olive Hanson.
