Dona Zinik

Dona Stark Zinik, past president of Salt Lake B’nai B’rith Women, passed away Nov. 22, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Services took place Nov. 29 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary in Salt Lake. Wasatch Lawn made the arrangements.

“She was loved by family and friends,” her loved ones said.

Dona Stark was born in 1931 in Cheyenne, Wyo.

She moved to Salt Lake City in 1950 to marry her sweetheart Verner Zinik, owner of Zinik’s Sporting Goods.

Married on Aug. 13, 1950, they loved traveling the world together. Mr. Zinik passed away on June 13, 2017.

Mrs. Zinik, who occasionally worked for the family business, was also a licensed real estate agent.

She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain for the holidays.

An accomplished golfer, Mrs. Zinik skied, played tennis, bridge and Mahjongg, loved to read and discuss books and politics.

The family thanks Mrs. Zinik’s caregivers, particularly Rachelle Harris.

Dona Stark Zinik is survived by her children Debra, Gary, Steve and Davette; and grandchildren Rachel George, Jacob Boxer, Alexandra Zinik and Matthew Zinik.
