Derril Kripke, wife of the late Kenneth N. “Norm” Kripke, passed away March 23, 2017, in Laguna Woods, Calif. Rabbi David Zaslow will preside at a memorial service in Mrs. Kripke’s honor on June 10 in Laguna Woods.
Mrs. Kripke was born Oct. 3, 1927, in St. Paul, Minn. She attended high school and some college.
She married Norm Kripke on Nov. 4, 1945. Married for 52 years, the couple lived in Denver, 1945-1995. Mr. Kripke passed away on June 19, 2002.
Mrs. Kripke was a legal secretary for at least 20 years.
She dedicated much of her adult life to the Democratic Party in many different capacities and public service.
Mrs. Kripke was the Ombudsperson for Colorado Lt. Gov. Mark Hogan and secretary to Rep. Robert Kirscht, majority leader of the Colorado House of Representatives.
Campaign manager for Nancy Dick, the State Rep. from Aspen, she raised money for the Democratic Party and several candidates.
Mrs. Kripke was involved in the Denver Jewish community and served one term chairing the women’s division of the Allied Jewish Federation.
She was very active in the ADL and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Assn.
Mrs. Kripke is survived by two daughters, Marci Gaon of Laguna Woods, Calif., and Teri Schwartz of Denver; three grandchildren, Alex Gaon of Irving, Calif., and Andra Davidson and Lindsey Gutterman, both of Denver; and five great-grandchildren.
