Derek Rudawsky

Derek Rudawsky lost his courageous 25-year battle with Dravet Syndrome on June 20, 2020. Rabbis Rick Rheins and Salomon Gruenwald officiated at the private graveside service June 22 at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Derek impacted the lives of everyone he encountered,” his loved ones said. “He will be remembered for his warmth, humanity, quick smiles and hugs. His family will miss him tremendously.”

For years, Derek was the namesake of the annual charity run to raise awareness for Dravet Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy. Proceeds helped fund research and find treatments to fight this horrible disease.

The family extends their heartfelt thanks to all of the healthcare professionals for their care, commitment and compassion shown to Derek over his lifetime.

Derek Rudawsky is survived by his parents Staci and Zvi Rudawsky; sister Alyssa and brother-in-law Josh; grandparents Mort and Jo Sperling and Oded Rudawsky; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins

Contributions may be made in Derek Rudawsky’s name to the Dravet Syndrome Foundation.
