
Dr. Dell Bernstein, longtime OB/GYN in Denver, died Oct. 13, 2021, at age 86.
A celebration of life was held Nov. 6, 2021 at Feldman Mortuary.
After graduating from the University of Iowa, Dr. Bernstein attended medical school at SUNY Downstate Medical School in Brooklyn, NY. The latter part of his training took him to Colorado, where Dr. Bernstein practiced medicine primarily at Rose Medical Center in Denver.
Dr. Bernstein practiced medicine for more than 60 years, and retired in 2015 at the age of 80. His family said Dr. Bernstein would take care of anyone in need of his help without regard to background or status.
“He was loved by his patients and respected by his peers,” said his family.
In 1963, Dr. Bernstein married Jan Kahan. They enjoyed travel, opera and dancing, and were married for 58 years before his death.
In spring of 2022, the University of Colorado School of Medicine will hold a memorial service for Dr. Bernstein.
Dr. Bernstein is survived by his wife Jan; his three children David (Lisa), Rochelle (Tracy) Deborah (Garth); and six grandchildren.
