Deena Brooks

Deena BrooksDeena Brooks, a native and lifelong Denverite, passed away June 14, 2008, in Denver. Rabbi Steven Foster and Cantor Regina Heit officiated at the June 15 service held at Congregation Emanuel. Interment followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“We want to thank the dedicated caretakers who cared for our mother,” the family said.

Mrs. Brooks was born July 10, 1922, in Denver. She graduated from East High School.

Deena Cohan married Sidney Brooks on Sept. 21, 1940. Mr. Brooks passed away in 1993.

A homemaker, Mrs. Brooks was very active with Beth Israel on the West side.

She is survived by her children Edward (Barbara) Brooks, Cindy (Robert Shaiman) and Debra (Chester) Brooks-Luby; grandchildren Robyn (Todd) Schiff, Jodi (Rodney) Allen, Bradley Brooks, Todd (Angela Crenshaw) Shaiman, Darcey “Cheva Chaya” (Shani) Servetter, Kori (Ari) Krichiver; and great-grandchildren Aaron Joseph, Gavin, Shmuel, Ra’ayah, Neira, Aidl and Jaiden.
