David Parelman, 76, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Sept. 17, 2009. Services were held Sept. 18 at the Louis Memorial Chapel, followed by burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Louis Memorial Chapel made the arrangements.
David was a man of few words, which he chose wisely, the family said. He always got the desired effect, whether it was shock or laughter.
He loved to write and perform his unique brand of poetry at life cycle events. All friends and family had to do was ask.
Mr. Parelman, who received a bachelors degree in accounting from DU, worked as an accountant for more than 50 years.
He belonged to Beth Shalom Synagogue in Overland Park.
Mr. Parelman is survived by Judy, his wife of 42 years; daughters Mardi Parelman (Allan Harjala) of Davis, Calif., and Dayna (Danny) Gerson of Overland Park, Kan.; sister Eleanore and brother-in-law Jim Judd of Denver; sisters-in-law Sandy Parelman and Salli Katz and brother-in-law Art Katz; and grandchildren Max and Sadie Gershon.
