David Alan Valas, partner in the Valas family TV store in Denver, passed away June 5, 2013. Rabbis Bernard Gerson, Aaron Finkelstein and Benjy Brackman officiated at the June 7 service at Rodef Shalom.
Interment followed at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
He will be missed by his large family and numerous friends, his loved ones said.
Mr. Valas was born Aug. 26, 1950, in Denver. He graduated from George Washington High and earned his MBA from CU.
He was married to Susan Zlotnick Valas, the love of his life, for 31 years.
Mr. Valas was a partner in Valas TV and Appliance, which opened in the early 1950s and became a popular destination.
He lived for seven years at Kibbutz Ein Dor in Israel.
An avid skier and cyclist, Mr. Valas reveled in the beauty of the Colorado mountains.
Mr. Valas is survived by his wife Susan; his son Ruben; sisters Elly, Claudia (Carl Buchin) and Leslie (Alan Finkelstein); and numerous nieces and nephews.
