Cynthia Goralnik, MD

Dr. Cynthia H. Goralnik, 61, of Phoenix, Ariz., died suddenly on Dec. 29, 2015, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. A graveside service was held Jan. 3, 2016, at Mt. Sinai Cemetery in Phoenix.

““Cynthia was always regarded as a gifted and compassionate physician,”” the family said. “”She was exceptionally faithful and loyal to her many close friends, both human and canine.””

Dr. Goralnik was born Dec. 13, 1954, in Middletown, NY, to the late Jeanette Blecher and Edward Haimes.

On the medical staff at institutions in Ohio, Colorado and Arizona, her most recent position was director of breast imaging at SimonMed Imaging in Mesa, Ariz.

““She saved countless lives,”” the family said.

Dr. Goralnik is survived by her husband Dr. Gary Goralnik; children Nathan Goralnik, Harry Goralnik and Sara Womack; brothers Howard and Mark Haimes; son-in-law David Womack; and her mother-in-law Sandra Goralnik.
