Catching up with the Consul General in Salt Lake City

April, the IJN spent one-on-one time with Israel’s Consul General of Los Angeles, Hillel Newman, on a visit to Denver. That interview with Newman helped commemorate Israel’s 73rd anniversary in the special edition, “Celebrate Israel@73.” Since that visit, much has changed in Newman’s world. Tensions in Gaza escalated into war in May, and in June Newman got a new boss: Prime Minister Naftali Bennett. The region of the Consulate of Israel in Los Angeles includes Colorado and Utah, and last week Newman was in Salt Lake City for the Silicon Slopes Summit 2021, which brings business and technology leaders together to foster potential partnerships.
