Community blowback to US abstention at UN

unanimity is not the usual Jewish response to public policy questions, especially when they concern Israel, but President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry have managed to achieve that result. The US decision to abstain from a Dec. 23 UN Security Council resolution condemning Israel’s settlement policy, followed by Kerry’s comments on settlements and the two-state solution, have received virtually unanimous Jewish condemnation on a national and international scale. Members and leaders of the Colorado Jewish community are no exception.
