Commemoration services held for murdered Israeli teens

Local synagogues are holding commemoration services for the three kidnapped Israeli youths, Naftali Frankel, Eyal Yifrach and Gilad Shaar, whose bodies were recovered on June 30, 2014 near Hebron in the West Bank.

BMH-BJ is holding a community memorial service to express grief and solidarity with the families of Naftali Frankel, Eyal Yifrach and Gilad Shaar, and the state of Israel on Wednesday, July 2, 6:30 p.m., at the synagogue.

Cantor Joel Lichterman is coordinating the service.

Speakers include JCC Shaliach Yoni Alon, Rabbi Bruce Dollin of the HEA and Rabbi Hillel Goldberg, IJN executive editor. Prayers will be recited.

Jews of all affiliations are encouraged to attend.

Temple Sinai’s Shabbat service on Friday, July 4, which will celebrate the American blessings of freedom and the safety in which we live, will also share prayers in memory of Naftali Frankel, Eyal Yifrach and Gilad Shaar.

The service starts at 6 p.m. at the temple.

A rally that was planned for Wednesday, July 2, at Albuquerque JCC, will now be held as a commemoration service, standing in solidarity with the bereaved families and the State of Israel.

The service will be at 6 p.m. at the Albuquerque JCC.

The EDOS family will learn the Mishnah in memory of murdered Israeli teens Naftali Frankel, Eyal Yifrach and Gilad Shaar and hold a siyum or completion of the studies on the 30th day of mourning, July 30.
