Zeff Anderson, JEWISHcolorado board chair since July, 2016, speaks fluent Hebrew with an American accent and unaccented American English — an unusual trait she acquired after living in Israel for 24 years. “People are surprised that I don’t have an Israeli accent,” Anderson says in JEWISHcolorado’s conference room. “When I’m in Israel I sound like an American, and when I’m here you can’t tell I speak Hebrew. “It doesn’t work for me either way,” she laughs. “I guess I lack Israeli authenticity.” Actually, nothing could be further from the truth.
