Hacham Hanania and Sarit Cohen have moved to Denver to provide spiritual leadership to Denvers Sephardic and Israeli Jews who have established a minyan.
It now meets regularly in the lower floor of Bais Menachem, 400 S. Holly St.
Hacham Cohen will lead High Holiday services for the new congregation.
Cohen, who spent the past six years in Los Angeles, has a masters degree in Chinese medicine, and is a certified clinical hypnotherapist and neurofeedback practioner.
Of Moroccan descent, Hanania Cohen comes from a family of rabbis and cantors. He studied formally at Yeshivat Porat Yoshef in Jerusalem, and additionally with learned rabbis.
Sarit Cohen has a bachelors degree in communication from Cal State University and a masters degree in Jewish education from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
She is a certified Montessori teacher.
The Cohens intend to enrich Denvers Sephardic and general Jewish community with classes in prayer, Torah and Jewish meditation.
