Clare Udis

Clare Udis, 91, a Boulder resident for over 50 years, passed away Nov. 26, 2018, in Boulder. Rabbi Fred Greene officiated at the Nov. 29 service at Congregation Har HaShem in Boulder. Interment followed at Mountain View Cemetery. Greenwood and Myers Mortuary made the arrangements.

Clare was one of the early founders of Har HaShem and an active member of Boulder’s Jewish community.

“Clare enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren, classical music, cats, and the wildlife that visited her northwest Boulder home,” the family said.

“She followed domestic and international events with great interest and often engaged others in dialogue about these issues.”

Clare Sylva Lefkoe was born April 10, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Maurice and Kathryn Alman Lefkoe.

Raised in Lansdale, Pa., Clare graduated with a business degree from Pennsylvania State University.

A former school teacher, she later worked as a realtor.

Clare married Bernard Udis in 1950 and they had two children, Laura and Kevin. The couple divorced in 1973.

Clare Udis is survived by her children Laura of Washington, DC, and Kevin (Victoria Kaye) of Broomfield, Colo.; grandson Jeremy of Denver; step-granddaughter Rebecca (Mickey) Weiss of Longmont; and several nieces and cousins.
