At first, I was prepared to give Brandon Marshall the benefit of the doubt. I don’t support these players, but I understood that they feel this is their outlet to make a statement about an issue important to them. That’s because, unfor- tunately, our society cares what celebrities have to say about matters they know very little about. So these athletes are using the opportunity afforded to them. Fine. Then came Marshall’s article in the Denver Post that recounted an encounter that sounded so unlikely I really started to wonder about this man’s credibility.
