received an email last Wednesday from the Rabbinical Council of America. It said: “Pray for Aleppo.” I received another email from Amaliah, an organization I had been informed of only the night before. It said: “Video of Syrian women and children being treated in Israel is going viral.” I will return to this. It is extremely important. In context, however, it is small comfort. In which context is it small comfort? Not of a viral video, but of the real virus. Make that plural, viruses: Russian cruelty. Assad’s cruelty. The United States of America’s indifference.
