Bye bye Esther

Not suprisingly Esther Petrack – the Orthodox contenstant on America’s Next Top Model we reported on a few weeks back – went home last week. It wasn’t surprising because frankly she’d been badly underrated by the judges and had been receiving very little screen time, the latter usually signalling a lack of progression.

At least in the last two weeks her personality and religious devotion got a little more attention, and us viewers were able to see that Esther had her own refrigerator and cooking area, allowing her to keep kosher. This matches up nicely with a comment posted on our blog from a reader alleging to be Esther’s mother. Marina claimed that in the first episode, where Esther was seen disavowing her religiosity, was due to editing, an allegation that’s very easy to believe considering that reality shows are all about creating drama and/or controversy. Marina writes that “Esther remained committed to Jewish law throughout the show.” Well good on her, and Esther, we were rooting for you!
