Boulder JCC campaign involves youth

The Rona family makes a fundraising webpageIt’s been over two years since the Boulder JCC launched a capital campaign to build a new facility. Reaching $17.2 million in November, 2012, the campaign was ready to break ground after reaching the $18 million pre-construction goal for construction in December.

Believed to be the largest amount of money raised for a non-university capital campaign for a non-profit in Boulder, the success of this campaign is one that will go down in the books.

Several community organizations and members helped the Boulder campaign reach its total.

The Sturm Family Foundation (with the participation of ANB bank) made a $500,000 matching pledge to assist in the fundraising and start construction by 2013.

“We are thrilled that we have met our pre-construction goal of $18 million,” said Jonathan Lev, executive director of the Boulder JCC.

Lev said that with over 725 individual, family and foundation donors, and an army of motivated and dedicated volunteers, the goal was met with local and national support.

“Our campaign is unique because most people who live in Boulder did not grow up here and have families connected to Jewish life across the country. Their families see what we are doing as the early stages of pioneering for the future.

“We continue to receive incredible participation from donors across the country.”
