was always a lot more to Bob Loup than met the eye. What met the eye — at least from the perspective of a journalist working in the Jewish press — was something of a tough guy. Loup had a commanding baritone voice, the lean physique of a man who knew physical work, a tendency to make direct eye contact and a manner that often leaned toward the forceful, sometimes even gruff, side.
