Bernard Bernie Goldman, a founder of Beth Evergreen and strong supporter of Denvers Jewish community, passed away Oct. 27, 2013, in Lakewood.
Rabbi Bruce Dollin and Rabbi Jamie Arnold officiated at the Oct. 30 service held at the HEA. Interment followed at Golden Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Goldman was born July 20, 1926, in Manhattan, NY, to Miriam (Blinder) and Pincus Goldman.
He graduated Columbia University with a degree in engineering and earned a masters degree from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.
A member of the US Navy, retired, Mr. Goldman was affiliated with Ford Instrument and Grumman Aircraft, Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. and Insurance/Financial Services in Lakewood.

Mr. Goldman married Susan Zinn Goldman in 1988.
Active in numerous civic activities in Lakewood over the past 25 years, he also was an instrumental force in countless Jewish organizations.
A founder of Beth Evergreen in 1974, Mr. Goldman belonged to the ADL Speakers Bureau and Bnai Brith.
He also founded the JCRS Isaac Solomon Historic Synagogue Foundation on the campus of the old Jewish Consumptives Relief Society.
An avid skier, Mr. Goldman received the Halstead Award from USSA-Rocky Mountain Division for outstanding volunteer service to the sport. He also was a board member of the Loveland Racing Club, which promotes skiing for kids.
His motto was, Never let the business of earning a living interfere with the process of living.
Mr. Goldman is survived by his wife Susan Zinn Goldman; children Janlorie (Katherine Franke) Goldman of New York City, Michael (DeeDee Carlson) Goldman of Durango, David (Karen Dodds) Goldman of New York City and Lisa (Steve Sikorski) Zinn of Denver; and grandchildren Brandon Shuman Zinn, Maya Rose Goldman, Tobias Goldman and Alexander Latsis Zinn.
