Bernice Rosen, formerly of Chicago, Ill., and Kenosha, Wisc., passed away Jan. 22, 2010, in Denver. She was 77.
Services were held Jan. 25 at Chicago Jewish Funerals Chapel, followed by interment at Rosemont Cemetery.
Mrs. Rosen was born in Chicago, where she graduated from Chicago Jewish Academy. She then earned a BS and an MFA cum laude from Mundelein College, also in Chicago.
She married Dr. Stanley Rosen, her husband of 58 years, in 1951.
While in Kenosha, Mrs. Rosen was president of Hadassah and active in Congregation Bnai Tzedek.
A recognized painter and printmaker, she exhibited locally and on the state and national levels.
Mrs. Rosen enjoyed traveling, music, history, Judaica, and particularly the company of family and friends.
To us, she represented a source of warmth, wisdom and peace, the family said.
Mrs. Rosen is survived by her husband Dr. Stanley Rosen; daughter Dr. Lynn (Tzvi Horowitz) White of Denver and Jerusalem; grandchildren Jay, Sharon, Rivkie, Zurit and Mattan; and brother Jerry Barach of Jerusalem.
She was predeceased by her son Jeffrey Solomon Rosen in 1976.
