Bernard Lips, a Denver resident since 1952, passed away July 5, 2011, in Denver. Rabbi David Zucker officiated at the July 6 graveside service held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
He had a wonderful sense of humor, even until the end, the family said.
Mr. Lips was born Jan. 17, 1925, in Kansas City, Mo. He graduated from Central High School.
His draft status in WW II was deferred so he could care for his ailing mother.
He married Rose Chaitman on Nov. 10, 1946. Mrs. Lips passed away on Aug. 29, 1993.
In furniture sales at American Furniture, Mr. Lips was named top producer for the company in 1982. He retired in 1992.
Mr. Lips is survived by his children Michael Lips of San Francisco, Renee Bay of Decorah, Iowa, and Elliott Lips of Salt Lake City, Utah; and grandchildren Kate Lips of Salt Lake, Jonathan Lips of San Francisco, Erik Bay of Decorah and Brian Bay of Houston.
