Bennie Silvestain

Bennie Silvestain, who lived in Denver the majority of his life, passed away Oct. 1, 2012, in Denver. Rabbi Joe Black and Cantor Regina Heit officiated at the Oct. 4 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“Bennie’s family meant everything to him,” his loved ones said.

Mr. Silvestain was born July 25, 1927, in Houston, Texas.

A student at North High, he graduated from DU.

He served in the US Navy from 1945-1946.

On Feb. 19, 1950, Mr. Silvestain married Phyllis Idleberg. Mrs. Silvestain passed away on Aug. 11, 2006.

A partner in the CPA firm Wenner Silvestain, he retired in 2001.

Mr. Silvestain is survived by his children Jay (Donna) Silvestain of Cincinnati, Barry (Regina)  Silvestain of Denver, Michael (Carol) Silvestain of Denver and Cheryl Sanders of Denver; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
