Belden W. Lerner, MD

Dr Belden LernerDr. Belden W. Lerner, an OB-GYN at Rose Medical Center for 43 years, passed away Feb. 4, 2009, in Centennial.

Rabbi Steven Foster and Cantor Regina Heit officiated at the Feb. 6 graveside service at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

“He was an excellent physician with an impeccable reputation,” said his wife Jeanne Lerner. “He loved teaching the residents at Rose, and they loved watching him perform surgery.”

Dr. Lerner was born Dec. 27, 1922, in Denver to Gus and Ethel Lerner.

A graduate of West High, he received his BS, MS and MD from CU and interned in Oakland, Calif.

He also served in the US Army Medical Corps.

Dr. Lerner married Jeanne Wexler on Dec. 12, 1954.

A respected member of the Rose Medical Center staff for 43 years, Dr. Lerner retired in 1996.

He loved playing golf and cribbage with his wife.

Dr. Lerner is survived by his wife Jeanne Lerner; son Rick (Marlene) Lerner and daughter Karen; and grandchildren Olivia and Max.
