Beatrice Bea Sussman, a native Denverite and lifelong resident, passed away peacefully on Nov. 12, 2011, in Aurora. She was 100 years old.
Rabbi Steven Foster officiated at the Nov. 15 graveside at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Born Aug. 21, 1911, in Denver, Bea Millenson was one of five children born to the late Meyer and Theresa Millenson.
She graduated from East High School and married Albert Tex Sussman in 1935.
Known for her warmth, optimism and friendly personality, Bea was a fixture in her Aurora neighborhood for more than 50 years.
She was active in the Womens Auxiliary of the Hoffman Heights Volunteer Fire Dept., where her husband served as assistant fire chief. Bea and Tex were founding members of the Aurora Boys Baseball League.
Bea was a longtime member of Avons Presidents Club and received awards for sales achievement on an annual basis.
Mr. Sussman passed away in 1992.
During her last years at the Cherry Creek Retirement Village, Bea touched the lives of many people with her positive outlook.
She is survived by three sons, Meyer (Judy), Harry (Louise) and Jerry (Sharon); grandchildren Angela Sussman-Jones, Kristy Adams, Jeffrey Sussman, Aaron Sussman, Meaghan Sussman and Michael Sussman; and great-grandchildren Kaylee and Cameron Adams and Keegan and Rylan Jones.
