As he retires, Neal Price reflects on a half century of service

Price may be the current longest-serving synagogue executive director in North America. But that distinction will shift on Nov. 30, when Price retires after 38 years as the executive director of Hebrew Educational Alliance, preceded by four years in the same position at Rodef Shalom. Over the past 38 years, HEA has undergone some cataclysmic shifts, morphing from a West Side Orthodox congregation into a Southeast Denver Conservative congregation. Through all these changes, one thing has remained constant — the steady hand, strong work ethic and calm demeanor, and no-nonsense approach, of Neal Price.
