Arthur Frazin

Arthur FrazinRespected attorney and past president of Temple Emanuel Arthur Frazin passed away Dec. 25, 2010 at the age of 84.

Rabbis Joe Black and Steven Foster and Cantor Regina Heit officiated at the funeral service, held Dec. 28 at Temple Emanuel with interment at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.

Arthur Mitchell Frazin was born Feb. 25, 1926 in Denver, where he lived his entire life.


A graduate of East High School, he attended CU-Boulder, where he co-founded CU’s ZBT chapter.

He transferred to DU, where he received both his bachelor’s and law degrees.

During WW II, Mr. Fraizin served with the US Air Force in the South Pacific.

He married Jacqueline “Jackie” Friedman of Kansas City, Mo., in 1950.

Mr. Frazin practiced law until he retired at age 83 in July, 2009.

During his career, he helped to establish the Colorado Law Review and The Docket, a publication of the Colorado Bar Association.

He served as vice president of the CBA., chair of the publications committee of the Denver and Colorado Bar Assns., fellow and president of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, and was president of its Colorado chapter.

He was a magistrate for the City and County of Denver. Mr. Frazin also volunteered countless hours for Channel 9’s Law Line 9 and the Legal Aid Society.

Mr. Frazin and his wife were active at Temple Emanuel, where they served as youth group advisors.

He was a board member and president of Temple Emanuel, 1981-83, and past master of the Columbine Masonic Lodge.

Mr. Frazin enjoyed skiing, tennis and golf.

His family members and Rabbi Foster described Mr. Frazin as “an engaging individual who showed interest in everyone he met — especially his children and grandchildren.

“He was a servant of the community and readily availed himself for the benefit and betterment of others.”

Mr. Frazin is survived by his wife Jacqueline Frazin; children Debra (Dr. Steven) Weinstein of Greenwood Village, Michael (Jane) Frazin of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Andrea (Scott) Stillman of Greenwood Village; grandchildren, Bret, Laura and Caley Weinstein, Jordan and Tyler Frazin and Abbie and Jacob Stillman.
