Arnold Arnie Levine, a Brooklyn native, passed away Feb. 12, 2013, in Aurora. Rabbis Joe Black and Steven Foster and Cantor Regina Heit officiated at the Feb. 15 service held at Temple Emanuel.
Interment followed at Emanuel Cemetery. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Mr. Levine was born Aug. 20, 1928, and grew up in Coney Island and the surrounding area. He learned to fish off the Coney Island boardwalk and later became an avid freshwater and deep sea fisherman.
He married Rhoda Kyman in May, 1951. She passed away on Sept. 12, 1982. On Aug. 13, 1985, he married Joan Snyderman Silverberg.
Mr. Levine attended a technical high school in Manhattan while he was a member of the New York National Guard.
He enlisted in the US Navy and was sent to Navy Corps School. Following his service as a pharmacy mate, he attended electronics school on the GI Bill. He later attended real estate school and took several courses in computer technology.
Mr. Levine and his first wife came to Denver in 1952. He initially worked as a self-employed TV technician and salesman.
For 18 years, Mr. Levine was employed by Martin Marietta and worked on the Titan Missile, the Moon Lander and several other developmental aerospace projects.
After managing Dreamland Bedding, he was associated with Cherry Creek Realtors.
Mr. Levine, who was proud of his PADI diving certificate, dove in Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Eilat, Israel.
He used his computer skills in business and to help family and friends.
Mr. Levine is survived his wife Joan Levine; sons Steven and Kenny (Terri) Levine of Denver and Richard Levine of Las Vegas; stepchildren Eric Moshe (Yael) of Jerusalem, Alan Silverberg of Denver and Debra (Jed) Dackert of Bend, Ore.; grandchildren Adam and Jason (Heather) Levine of Denver, and Dina, Aharon, Chaim, Shaina, Sara, Dovid, Meir, Tifferet, Avi Silberberg and Rachelli (Esrael) Liberson of Spain; and great-grandchildren Zander and Kellan Levine and Eva and Chaya Liberson.
