Arnie Breggin

Arnie Breggin, an electrical engineer, passed away peacefully on Feb. 18, 2015, at his Colorado home. He was 84. Rabbi Richard Rheins officiated at the Feb. 23 funeral service at Temple Sinai.

A private burial was held. Fairmount Mortuary made the arrangements.

Mr. Breggin was born Jan. 20, 1931, in New York to Morris and Jean (Weinstein) Breggin.

He graduated CU with a degree in mechanical engineering. After spending a year in Rochester, NY, and six months in Green River, Wyo., he returned to Colorado.

Mr. Breggin worked as an electrical engineer at Martin Marietta (now Lockheed Martin). A rocket scientist, he held at least one electrical patent.

He then moved on to a second career in residential real estate sales and management.

Mr. Breggin was an avid photographer, capturing the mountain vistas and wildflowers of Colorado.

His love for the mountains was exceeded only by his love of family and his soul mate and wife of 20 years, the late LaVerne Siebuhr.

Arnie Breggin is survived by his children Dave (Johanne) Breggin of Littleton, Janie Breggin (Jody) Braverman of Iowa City, Iowa, Dan (Kalpana) Breggin of Highlands Ranch and Reggi (Dana) Coles of Centennial; his brother Peter (Ginger) Breggin of Ithaca, NY; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
