Anita Pike

Longtime Denver resident Anita Pike passed away on November 27, 2022 at the age of 89. A service will be held in Denver in the spring of 2023. Mt. Sinai Mortuary in Phoenix is making the arrangements.

Mrs. Pike was born on Jan. 9, 1993 in Brooklyn, NY. She attended Tilden High School and then later NYU.

In 1951 married Sheldon Pike, her junior high sweetheart. They were married for 71 years before his passing four months ago.

Prior to her marriage, she worked in the business office of City College. Later she was a bookkeeper for her husband’s buisness.

In 1957 Mr. and Mrs. Pike moved to Denver, where they became entrenched in the community and were active members of Rodef Shalom.

For the past 25 years the couple split their time between Denver and Scottsdale, Ariz. Five years ago they made Scottsdale their permanent home.

“They expanded their group of friends and reconnected with many Denverites who also wintered in Arizona,” Mrs. Pike’s family said. “She was stylish and funny until the end, and she will be missed by the family and friends who loved her.”

Survivors are children Brian (Randi Schmidt) Pike, DeeDee (Chuck Rollinger) Pike and Marshall (Susie) Pike; and grandchildren Max and Harris Rollinger, Justin Pike, Aubrie and Brandon Pike, and two great-grandchildren, Ellis Rollinger and Nora Pike.

Donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley Eckstein Center in Scottsdale.
