The DAT board of trustees has approved a contract for Rabbi Daniel Alter to remain as head of school through 2015.
We are delighted to secure the continued leadership of Rabbi Alter, who is already our longest acting and most successful head of school, said Dr. Rachel Rabinovitch, president.
During Rabbi Alters tenure since 2006, the school has reached many milestones: accredidation by ACIS (Association of Colorado Independent Schools), higher enrollment by over 50% with the largest enrollment to date, strengthened academic focus on skill-based learning in secular and Judaic subjects, graduation of the first 12th grade class this spring, and the launch of Yeshivat Shaarei DAT, a high school.
According to Rabinowitz, Rabbi Alter, in his role as senior rabbi of the Glassman Education Campus, will continue to coordinate and develop a unified vision for the DAT community and will work closely with the rabbinic, lay and professional leadership of the mission-aligned institutions on the campus and other institutions in the Denver Jewish community.
I look forward to strengthening DATs mission-driven educational program and strengthening its ties with individuals and organizations in the greater community, said Rabbi Alter.
