Alan Saltzman, a Colorado native, passed away Dec. 17, 2020, in Aurora. He was 71. There was no service. Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
“Alan’s soul shone like a miniature sun, bringing those that were lucky enough to know him into his orbit and blanketing them with warmth, love and compassion,” his loved ones said.
“He gave so much to so many.”
Mr. Saltzman was born Jan. 6, 1949, in Denver to Sam and Betty (Agron) Saltzman.
He met his wife Lita when she came to Colorado looking for work at a ski area. She joined a group of friends at the Old Dillon Inn and Saltzman’s good friend asked her to go sailing the next day.
Though his friend had invited her, Alan was the one who showed up. It was a prelude to a beautiful marriage and an even more beautiful family.
“Alan always lived his life in the fast lane,” the family said. “Whether it was driving in his sports cars with the top down or eating his way through the world with his wife and kids, he always had his sights set on the road ahead.”
Mr. Saltzman lived in Vail for several years, Pennsylvania for a time, Chicago, and then finally Denver, where he and Lita raised their two children.
“Alan welcomed everyone in his presence as his own family,” his loved ones said. “As a result, his absence leaves a gaping hole in the lives of those that loved him.”
Alan Saltzman is survived by his wife Lita; children Justine and Ethan; brother Gary (Judy) Saltzman and sister Maxann (David) Baughman; and extended family.
