Seiji Nagata is the creative artist and technological whiz at the IJN. He has managed many important assignments since joining the newspaper in 1987 as part of the IJN student internship program.
Seiji began in office support and moved to bookkeeping, where he became a self-taught computer maven. Since then, he has ushered the IJN through several generations of technological improvements.
Seiji was born in Yokohama, Japan, and came to Denver at age of two. He graduated from East High School.
Seiji has a great laugh, which lightens up the worst deadline pressures.
His passion, other than computers, is collecting and restoring automobiles especially Camaros as well as hockey. He loves the Avalanche and the Broncos.
Seiji is an avid do-it-yourselfer, having recently built an addition to his home.
In his rare days off, you might find Seiji at the casino playing craps. Hes currently testing a physics theory of dice control, but still hasn’t been able to retire yet.
