
Funeral services took place Dec. 10 at Shalom Park Chapel with interment at Rose Hill Cemetery, where he was buried next to his mother. Rabbi David Zucker officiated and Feldman Mortuary made the arrangements.
Born in Denver and raised on the West Side, Mr. Eckstein attended North High School. He lived in Laramie from the late 1940s through 1975, working for his brother-in-law Lou Veta at the Crown Drive-In Liquor Store.
His family described him as always friendly and ready to greet people with a smile, which earned him many friends both in Laramie and in Denver, to which he returned following his retirement.
In recent years, Mr. Eckstein attended services at the Allied Jewish Chapel, where he did kiddush. He attended services in earlier years at the chapel of National Jewish Hospital.
He is survived by his brother Isadore Eckstein of Denver; nephews Samuel Veta of Sherman Oaks, Calif. and Dennis Veasman of Westlake Village, Calif.; and niece Jean Jajan of Grants Pass, Ore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.
